MY STORY

Where it began

Influenced by a lifelong fascination and an unbreakable bond with the magic of storytelling, my journey into the world of cinema and the performing arts was ignited by my father's love for film. My cinematic odyssey began at an early age, as I eagerly absorbed films from every genre, discovering a profound appreciation for the art of visual storytelling. Whether it was the epic adventures of fantasy, the intricate plots of drama, or the laughter-inducing moments of comedy, each film left an indelible mark on my heart. It was through these experiences that I realised my true calling lay in the world of film and theatre. As I grew older, I ventured into the world of dance and musical theatre, allowing me to express myself through movement and song. The opportunity to compete internationally in these fields opened my eyes to the universality of the performing arts, transcending language and culture to communicate emotions and narratives. Today, I am a Drama  student with a deep-seated passion for the art of storytelling, fueled by a lifelong journey that blends my love for cinema, dance, and musical theatre. My mission is to continue crafting compelling narratives that resonate with audiences worldwide, bridging the gap between cultures and emotions through the captivating power of the performing arts

My Teachers

A bit about me as a student

Susan Duncan

DRAMA

Sadie is a vivacious and highly motivated pupil. Over the last four years she has successfully explored and realised a number of different theatre genres including assisting with 1950's themed costumes for 'Return to the Forbidden Planet', shadow puppetry, and is now dealing with stylized Brechtian themes. Sadie's careful planning ensures that she meets deadlines and she willingly volunteers to problem solve any last minute production issues. I wholeheartedly recommend her to this course.

Alasdair Duncan

DRAMA

Sadie possesses a creative flair that is evident in her storytelling and imaginative approach when designing. She demonstrates an impressive determination when developing her ideas and is comfortable working independently. The necessary rigours and demands of a film course will challenge her but there is no doubt that her enviable resilience will shine through. I look forward to watching her cinematic work in the future.

TEXTILES

Sadie works with enthusiasm and is passionate about her ideas in Textiles, enjoying making connections in her work to more creative thematic responses. She has a strong ongoing monologue of ideas that she experiments with freely and effectively.

Sadie enjoys a hands-on approach, working in a reactive way as structured pieces develop in her Textiles work. This can result in exceptional outcomes that utilise her research material well.

Written analysis is personal and reflective of the topic. Her Related Study on costume is represented well through explorative sampling but also analysed thoughtfully and with consideration of the nuances of presentation for film. Sadie thinks ahead to the display of her work and the possibilities of presentation and exhibition potential. As a pupil within the school community Sadie is Energetic, lively and thoughtful. She has a friendly manner with other pupils and often inspires younger year groups with her dedication to other aspects of school life, such as sport and house events, where she excels on the sports track as much as she does in singing a solo in front of the whole school. She is always looking to achieve her best and works hard.
